INTRODUCTION...

The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for a position of Logistics and Support Coordinator in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS...

Qualifications Required:


Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.



Education:

Successful completion of secondary schooling is required.
Work Experience:

Minimum of seven years of experience in office management, business or administrative management is required.
At least two years of supervisory experience is required.
Language:

Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. (This will be tested.)
Skills and Abilities:

The ability to assess problems and develop realistic solutions is required.
Excellent inter-personal skills to coordinate with external partners and contractors are required.
Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, leadership in oral and organizational skills, and understanding of quality management principles.
Basic familiarity with MS Word and Excel is required. (This will be tested). Well-developed written skills for effective communication of operating needs, policies, and procedures.
Job Knowledge:

Detailed and broad knowledge of the host country operational environment, including a detailed knowledge of business environment in South Africa are required.


JOB SPECIFICATION...

Basic Function of the Position:

Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Operations, the job holder provides mid-level supervisory oversight, direction, coordination, management, and administrative support to a variety of operations areas including facilities and maintenance, motor pool, travel oversight, property inventories, and records management (supervisory records, motor pool records, etc.), operational policies, and commercial services management. Serves as the office manager in maintaining office operations by establishing, developing, and recommending office internal standards and procedures, and acts as liaison between other agencies on operations management services.



Basic Salary: R275,828 R386,158 per annum

Cash Benefits: R63,046 R72,240 per annum

Non-cash benefits include medical, pension and others where applicable

Final salary is based upon a variety of factors
