INTRODUCTION...
The U.S. Mission Pretoria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for a position of Community Grants Coordinator in the PEPFAR Coordination Office.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS...

Qualifications Required:

Education:*

Bachelor’s degree or host country equivalent in social sciences, business administration, public administration, finance, law, or health is required.


* Bachelor’s degree or host country equivalent requirement may be substituted with three additional years of professional work experience in stated disciplines. Please see section below.

Work Experience:

Minimum 3 years’ experience working in community development, project management, and program funding/budget management is required.


OR: In the absence of completion of a Bachelor’s degree or host country equivalent in social sciences, business administration, public administration, finance, law, or health the applicant must have:



Six years’ experience working in community development, project management, and program funding/budget management is required.
Language:

Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. (This will be tested.)
Skills and Abilities:

Ability to be a self-starter with excellent organizational, time management and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail is required.
Good investigative instincts and research skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity are required.
Familiarity with MS Word and Excel is required. (This will be tested.)
Job Knowledge:

Professional and specialized knowledge of grant writing and/or reviewing, project management (including analysis, assessment and advice to community organizations), contract drafting and interpretation, basic accounting and business skills, database and file system management and program coordination is required.
Knowledge of the HIV response, programs, policies and strategies in SA is required.


JOB SPECIFICATION...

Basic Function of the Position:

The Community Grants Coordinator serves as the Grants Officer Representative (GOR) and administers and manages a portion of the Community Grants Program awards in PEPFAR priority districts. The position oversees the entire life cycle of the grants, including making recommendations to senior management for the awarding of the grants, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, progress, and preparing reporting on grant status. Position is directly supervised by the Community Grants Country Coordinator and is reviewed by the PEPFAR Coordinator or Grants Officer (GO), as designated by the PEPFAR Coordinator.

Basic Salary: R326,107 – R456,600 per annum

Cash Benefits: R67,236 – R78,110 per annum

Non-cash benefits include medical, pension and others where applicable

Final salary is based upon a variety of factors
